Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 90k miles

the car apparently got hot an seized up. after cooling off you can now turn the starter over, but it is obviously got a blown head gasket. My question is do you think the engine is trashed now?

If teh engine got hot enough to siexe, there is likely damage to the crankshaft bearings and/or pistons. It may be rebuildable, but not economical to do so.

Once overheated to that extent, modern aluminum engines tend to warp. This creates untold problems later on, even after a repair.

The most economical solution would be to find a good used engine in a salvage yard.
