2003 Ford Taurus Blower motor Getting Wet

2003 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 60K miles

After the blower motor had recently stopped working and all of the electrical components tested good removing the motor revealed a wet condition in the blower motor housing. Not much but enough to damage the motor.Water did not appear to be coolant however there wasn't enough to tell for sure.Anyone familiar with a problem of the nature? Heater core? Outside drainage?

hard to tell if you dont know if its coolant or water. wipe your finger where it was. if its sticky its coolant. could be condensation
