My A/C compressor went out a couple weeks ago, but since it is cold outside, I haven't used the heat in the car except for the one setting that does not engage the compressor, and that very rarely. The serpentine belt broke this morning and I am trying to figure out which part of the motor is the cause. I am wondering if the A/C compressor wheel should be able to spin freely with the car turned off. It is not spinning freely which makes me think the A/C compressor completely locked up overnight somehow. What do you think?
