I read through related topics as best I could, but didn't see anything about intermittent revving. When I start my car, it idles excessively high, but then drops to normal for a matter of seconds before idling high again. If I put the car into Drive or Reverse, the car will jerk every time the engine revs high as if it's going to take off whether the break is on or not. My dad suggested that it may be a problem with the computer system. Initially, I wanted to know how much it would cost for the computer to be fixed, but now that I've read through your site, I'm wondering if it could be something else...maybe vacuum related. What do you think it could be? Is it something I can check (such as fuses or using a scanning tool to look for trouble codes)? What do you think it will cost to have it fixed?
