Air Conditioning problem
2002 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Are the ac compressor and power steering connected. Mechanic says they need to replace compressor on AC although we just want the power steering belt replaced

there's a serpentine belt that connects everything together, I have the same year car that recently had the same problem, they wanted $1500.00 to replace the a/c compressor, and I had a friend rebuild it instead. My advise, spend the money, it's worth it, I've had so many problems since, I'd have paid it too if I knew then what I know now.
