2002 Ford Taurus Lights on the inside

When I get in my car to drive and i shut the door, the inside light will not cut off. Then the light on the dash comes on saying a door is open but i have them all tightly shut and the light inside still will not cut off. What do i do to get the inside light to turn off when i close the door and the "doors open light off to signal the doors are closed"???

this is very common. spray wd40 on the door latches on the door and open and close a bunch of times really fast. do this on all doors, i find the door thats sticking is usually the one least used. what happens is the door ajar switch on the latch gets stuck open and the wd40 loosens it up causing light to go off.
