2002 Ford Taurus Blinking "Check Transaxle" &

I just had a torque converter and seal replaced in my car. Now the "Check Transaxle" is blinking and the "Check Engine Soon" is on. Power to the car is sluggish too. Can the earlier repair have anything to due wiht my current problem?
