when I turn my headlight switch on, none of the dash indicator lights work except both turn signal indicator lights (arrows) stay on. After driving for awhile, they go out and dash lights work. I have a 45 minute drive to work and in the winter it takes longer for the lights to start working.
someone mentioned to me that it could be a faulty headlight switch. Does this sound plausible to you?

hoping to see again without my llittle flashlight....

The turn indicators are a clue to the problem.... your instrument light circuit is grounding through the turn signal circuit. A bad ground is the most likely cause. Check your instrument panel grounding.
