2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR FOR AC UNIT AND TOOK ALL THE HOSES OFF THAT WHERE IN THE WAY FOR MY PROJECT. I HAD SOME OTHER KNUCKLE HEAD HELPING AND HE TOOK OFF THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE AND THE CONNECTOR PIPE THAT BRANCHES IN A Y WITH THE ONE TUBE GOING ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE AND THE OTHER SMALLER (PROBABLY 3/4 IN.) METAL TUBE GOES THREE INCHES OR SO AND THEN IT WOULD CONNECT TO ANOTHER RUBBER HOSE ???? THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM START I CANT FIGURE OUT WHERE OTHER END IS......
