2001 Ford Taurus Hood Latch and Cord Broken

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and cannot open the hood due to the fact that both the hood latch and cable are broken. Please let me know if there is something I can do to open the hood before taking it into a mechanic.

Its a difficult issue even some mechanics have trouble dealing with it and have to go to a body shop
