2001 Ford Taurus Hood Cable broke can't get to open

My cable broke and I was wondering which parts open the front hood. The hood latch was not there when I bought the car and the cable was sticking out to open it and I went to open today and the remaining cable came off with the little stop ball on the end.

HELP ... please

youll have to go underneither and find the part where the cable connects and pulls. unless you just broke off the end of the cable, you can choose to just go under it instead and try to cut the cable housing back to expose the cable more if its still there.
