2001 Ford Taurus Dim Lights on Speedometer

Hello. I've noticed the ligts on the highger speeds of my speedometer and the lower numbers on my rpm gauge have gone dim. It's only noticeable at night when I have my lights on.

Do lights react to the dimmer? Possible the light in that section of dash burned out.

I tried using the light dimmer, turning down then turning it back up but the lights in the areas I mentioned before are still dim. Is replacing the light a pretty common repair, or would this be something the dealer would have to do?

Well it is not a difficult repair. You will need a special tool to remove radio. Have you ever removed an instrument panel before? If not you may want to have this done. No need to go to dealer an independent will be able to handle for less cost.
