2001 Ford Taurus compressor

I need some info to help here. What model of Taurus and which V-6 if it is a 3.0 which one ohv engine or ohc engine. Does this have manual A/C or Automatic A/C? Do you have access to a digital multi meter? Get back to me so we do some test to figure out what is going on there.

its a sel ,6 cyl ,24v doc. i do no not have access to a meter

it also has autmatic climate controll

In order to so some testing to try to figure out the problem you willl need a digital multi meter. It doesn't need to an expensive one just digital like the pic I have included. Once you have one then I walk you through some tests. I would like to check out the A/C module.

First sorry it took so long to get back had my Wifes B-day this weekend my son's is next weekend. Anyway I would like to check the incar temperature sensor first. Unplug the three pin harnes to the incar temp sensor then measure the resistance of the terminals on the sensor itself. If the car is cold then just use air temp for reference here (once you check it start the car and do what it takes to make the clutch no kick in then shut the car off and do the test again just note the temp inside so you can use the reference included ok) is what you should find. 50-68 deg. 37,000 to 58,000 - 68-86 deg should read 24,000 to 37,000 ohms and 86 - 104 should read 16,000 to 24,000 ohms. Let me know what you find. I have included a pic of the connector and the sensor is located in the vent tube near the climate controls. Let me know what you find here. If the readings are not correct then that sensor needs to be replaced.
