I just bought this car so I do not know its history, when i bought it, I had to replace the passanger front rotor and master cylinder. They worked fine for awhile and now I am losing pressure, and the brakes work 80% of the time. When I bleed them it works fine for a couple of days and then right back to the same thing any suggestions?

Thank you

1st of all, you only replaced 1 rotor???? thats a big no no.... that creates un balanced stopping in the front of the car... whenever you replace pads, you should replace rotors also, and you replace both sides... without doing so, you may have damaged a caliper.... also, you stated you replaced the master cylinder.... was that bled out properly??? if not, that will throw a brake light in the dash, and have weak braking....

I did only replace one rotor, the other one was inspected and did not need to be replaced, pads were replaced on both sides, the master cylinder was bleed properly and I see no leaks, I had no problem with the brakes for 4 months, When the rotor and pads were replaced on the passanger side they were severly damaged the caliper did not look like it needed to be replaced so that was not, any other suggestions?

who inspected the other rotor???everytime you step on the brakes it wears the rotors... the thinner they are, the hotter they get.... also, any time you put new pads on a used rotor, they wear differently than they would on a new rotor... always always always do the same on one side as you would the other.... i cant stress enough how important that is.... with that being said, do you have drums or rotors in the rear???? if its drums, maybe a wheel cylinder is leaking.... only way to tell is pull the drum... keep me posted.

Mike,

Thanks for your feedback, I am going to look at the rear brakes this weekend, they are drum brakes and I will keep that in mind next time for the front end, I think I have to look at both calipers on the front, I suspect one or both may be damaged, I will keep you posted.

Thanks again
