2000 Ford Taurus inner tie rods

2000 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to replace the passenger side inner tie rod on my Taurus. The dealer wants $300 as they need to remove the steering rack. It appears that the iner can be accessed through the wheel well without removing the rack. If I were to do this repair myself, does the new tie rod need to be lubricated in some way before the boot is replaced?

Special tool is needed to remove the inner tie rod end no need to remove the rack out and no grease is needed for it
