Can a bad waterpump cause my coolant to overflow in the resevoir? I changed the T-stat and numerous (5 ) overflow bottle/rad caps. It does have a leaky core but without the heat on or a total by-pass I will survive. The constant loss of coolant out of the overflow has me stumped. It isn't the head gasket.

Hi there,

Check for a blocked radiator, have it cleaned & flow tested, you can have a head check done, this will check for exhaust in the cooling system, a sure sign of a head problem, the water pump if faulty wont normally cause this type of problem, as it will normally leak first, if the impeller has failed and partly blocked the water out let may be but this in uncommon, check these out.
