Interior problem
2000 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 175k miles

The glove box does not latch closed. The two pieces are there and in place, 1. the plastic rolling latch, and the 2. metal loop the latch secures to. I can't tell why the latch will not catch. The metal loop is secured. I asked my daughter if she tried to force the door with something in the glove box. She assured me she did not. It looks like it should work, but of course, I can't see the two pieces of the latch matching up when I close the door. I even checked the hinges. They are solid. I'm perplexed. Hope you can help.

Thx

Check and make sure that the latch isn’t latch on itself
hold the handle open and try to open and separate the latch two pieces
