Hello,

This likely due to a faulty fuel level sending unit.
The fuel level sending unit is a part of the fuel pump assembly. It consists of a float and a resistor panel. As the fuel level moves the float goes up or down and connects to different part of the resistor panel. This gets translated into the gauge readout.

In order to change the fuel level sending unit, the fuel pump needs to be removed. This will require of removal of the fuel tank.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
