Reciently purchased a 2000 Ford Taurus, 2 days ago the emissions light came on steady, checked the book and planned to have it checked out, then today the light started blinking after coming up a large hill. Car began to shake somewhat when driving it. Is this an issue with the emissions system or something more

If the malfunction indicator light is activated have autozone pull up the code for you. Please give us the code itself and not autozone's interpretation of the code.
