I have been working on this problem with my car for a long time now and im wondering if you could shed some light on it for me? when i first got the car it had about 130000 highway miles on it and shortly after i got it the fuel pump failed on it so i replaced the fuel pump. then right after i replaced the fuel pump cylinder number 3 started to misfire. so i replaced the plug. and the problem continued i replaced more plugs then finally a coil. this car has the 24 valve dohc which has individual coils on each cylinder. well after i replaced the coil the problem still continued. i have a scanner for the computer. code p0303 comes up which is cylinder nunber 3 misfire. i this at this point its a computer problem cause as im driving i clear the code and the problem of spitting and sputtering goes away. but the car still only gets about 16 mpg around the towns. its costing me alot of money. please if you could tell me what it is i need to do to fix this problem. thank you

Could be the injector at #3...could be dumping too much fuel.
