Transmission problem
2000 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 168k miles

I am getting the transaxle light going on when at speeds over 45.

Changed the filters, refilled, but the problem persists.

Now the torque converter is slamming in the mornings when cold.

Local shop quoted me $2200 to rebuild it. I think that's a trite too high.

2 questions, what's an average rebuild price for it?

and .. what about a basically low mileage yard pull?

The price that you have is in the average price for remove and rebuilding the tranny

expect to pay 1800 to $2500 for a rebuilt tranny
that is include parts and labor

used tranny would be less money have to check around for a good used one we a good warranty
they sell them $350 and up
for the parts and $550 to $900 to have it replaced depends on the shop and labor per hr
