My 99 Ford Taurus has recently started giving me issues. When accelerating it will periodically sputter and lose power, it will occasionally drop RPMs while idling (and stall about 30% of the time when this issue arises if I do not rev the engine), while maintaining highway speeds (60 to 70 MPH) it will occasionally lose power (I am not sure how else to describe this, but it feels as if the engine suddenly has trouble pulling its own weight, specifically it feels as if I hitched a trailer at highway speeds) I can overcome this lack of power issue by letting off the accelerator for a second or two. The check engine light will come on for a short period of time and then go off, I had the code diagnosed (stupidly I have forgotten the code). It was the same code that I had about a year ago that was thrown due to a vacuum leak (at the time I was told to replace the MAF sensor, that my engine was running to lean or rich), so I do not believe that this is the correct issue. After doing some nosing around on the internet and Google, I think that I may have a faulty DPFE (Differential Pressure Feedback?) Sensor.
