1999 Ford Taurus Driveability

1999 Ford Taurus does not move when placed in gear. No Low, High, Overdrive or Reverse. There was not any symptoms like hard shifting,,,slipping,,,grinding,,,or leaking. Fluid level is OK. With the engine still running,,the vehicle just coasted to a stop, like it was put into neutral.
