We have a 99 SHO. Runs well in all respects except the A/C, which quit about one year ago. The dealership's diagnostics say the transmission (converter) had a problem, in that it wasn't getting enough power, so it selects a system to shut down to acquire sufficient power. Obviously, the system it shuts down is the A/C. We had them replace the transmission and the converter. Worked for a day. Now all they can do is scratch their heads. We live on the Texas Gulf Coast. A/C is not a convenience, it's survival. Have any similar experience?

Strange you should ask this. I just had my transmission overhauled (99 Taurus 3.0 )and my ac runs ALL the time. I turn on the heat and both radiator cooling fans come on and the AC cycles on and off. I have to set my heater control to "vent" to turn off the AC and fans. Seems there must be some correlation
