That would indicate a faulty coolant temperature switch, not sending unit.

Ground the switch out on the Postive battery terminal with key on, does fans turn on? If not could be a relay or bad wiring.

Dunno what they will charge for the switch.

The labor will take no more then 30 mins.

You can get a switch for 14 bucks on partstrain. Com

just search for your year, make model
then coolant temp switch NOT sensor.
