1998 Ford Taurus Speedometer/radio

I have a 1998 Ford Taurus and the speedometer and radio simultaneously go out and come back on. Lately they have been staying off and they will sometimes come back on when i hit a large bump. I have no problems starting the car (like if it were an alternator) and I have not changed out my radio.

check charging system and alternator for sure
suspect wiring and or ground wire loose
