All brake lights work with the exception of the right rear. Replaced bulb. Turn signal works (uses same bulb), but the brake light still isn't working. Checked fuses, etc. Am I missing a simple solution, or could this be caused by the socket being faulty?

I don't think they operate on the same bulb, there should be two different bulbs in that. The one you want to replace has two filaments in it.

That is the bulb we replaced. It does have two filaments, but the brake lamp and turn signal work off of the same bulb; bulb lights up when turn signal is operated. However, the bulb doesn't light up on the right hand side when the brake pedal is pressed in.

Youll need to check the wires see if you have power with a test light. Can also be the ground, and the socket.
