Runs well, starts easily.

Only when engine is running, sounds like fuel pump is transmitting vibration/noise to the car.

Is this a common complaint, and is it actually the fuel pump?

Is there a solution not involving replacing a function pump?

thanks

It sounds like the pump may be going bad. It's common for them to make noise. If it continues to get worse, you may want to consider replacing it.

How much fun is it to pull the tank on the way to the pump?

Hi:
In theory, it's easy. Remove the two bolts holding the straps around the tank and the filler tube. However, rust never allows it to be easy. Usually one ends up fighting the bolts that hold everything together. If you decide to do it, spray everything down with penetrating oil for 2 or 3 days prior to doing the job. Also, have as little fuel in the tak as possible. They are heavy and akward if there is still a lot in them.

Let me know if you decide to do it or if you have other questions.

Looks like I will be doing this. Anything else you can tell me will be appreciated.

Any pointers to sources for parts would be helpful, too. Best price I can find is $279.

Thanks
