1997 Ford Taurus V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 168000 miles

Every month I have to by new back tires because the streads on the tire wear out. What could be the problem?

What part of the tire wears out? Inner outer or middle? Have you had anyone look at it before the new tires go on? You need to put it on an alignment rack, get a 4 wheel alignment.
