My car did not pass inspection and they said there was a problem with the light on the dash board coming on. So to fix it first they have to find out why that light isn't coming on by taking the dash board apart. Well I was fine with that but I'm a little uneasy about the fact that they are telling me it takes an hour to take a dash board apart. I am NOT a mechanic but that just seems a little over board to me especially being that they charge 60$/hr for labor. Now after removing the dash board and finding out the problem with the light they have to find out which of my four 02 sensors are bad by putting the car BACK on the machine for another 60$. My questions are does it take an hour to take apart a dashboard on a ford taurus and is it neccessary after an emmissions test to put the car back on the machine after the test already explained the problem? Oh and does an 02 sensor usually cost 70$?
