Engine timing should be 10 Deg BTDC at idle (800 RPM) and is registering 28 deg BTDC. Car seems to run OK so I guess PCM is adjusting to keep car running.

What would cause timing to be so high at idle? Could it be a stretched timing chain, a bad PCM, a bad timing sensor?

It is also throwing codes P0402 and P0430. I am asuming this is related to the timing performace issue being screwed up.

Please let me know what you think the timing issue may be caused by.

As for the timing I would not worry about it for know
(computer is in charge and taking control of advancing the timing.)
I would check EGR is its sticking
remove valve and inspect if stuck open as a 1st step
check vacuum hoses

need manual CHECK IT @
