1997 FORD TAURUS GL110, 00 MILES MY CAR HAS SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR 2 YRS AFTER SEEING MANY MECHANICS HOPE SOMEONE WILL KNOW WHY MY TAURUS WILL ONLY WHEN IT WANTS TO I COULD GO TO THE STORE COME OUT AND IT WONT START IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS TRYING AND HESATATES AFTER LONG PERIODS OF TRYING OR I COULD GIVE UP COME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND IT STARTS I HAVE CHANGED THE FUEL LINES, PUMP ITS ALL SPARKING RIGHT. ANY CLUE

Go out and buy some fuel injection cleaner. If that don't work you might have to replace a few things more. Like your fuel injectors, voltage regulator and or your coil

FORD TAURUS GL 110,000 TRIED THE FUEL PUMP WAS TOLD SENSOR CRANK SOUND RIGHT TO ANYONE? THE CAR STARTS WHEN IT WANTS TO I CAN DRIVE IT ALL DAY AND THEN NOTHING IT TRYS TO TURN OVER BUT NOTHING THE COIL WAS ALSO REPLACED THE CAR SITS FOR 2 YRS NOW AND TAKES A LONG TIME TO TURN OVER IF YOU CAN GET TO IT ALSO BLOWS OUT ALOT OF WHITE SMOKE AND BOGS DOWN IF YOU DONT KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS

I just had a camshaft sensor (sounds similar) replaced on my Pontiac last week. The autoshop teacher at the school where I teach said that a shot sensor can result in the car taking a long time (2+ minutes) to turn over, or result in rough idling, that sort of thing. If you have had that sensor mentioned it might be worthwhile. The GM part cost me about $50CDN, not sure what the equivalent Ford part would cost. Not too expensive though, and worth a shot?
