1997 Ford Taurus clunking

My husband hit a good size pothole and after that the car makes a clunking sound when turned in either direction. What could cause this?

could be several things but most likely he broke a sway bar end link. have him look under the car at the long sway bar that runs from the drivers side to the passengers side. at each ends are metal links, see if one is broken
