i had AAmco look at my CV joints and boots and was told they me the boots needed cing and the joints need greasing but i live in the dry hot arizona deserat so i think with that many miles i would be better to change out toe axel assemblyies can get them both new for $120.00 and have a friend install them for $45.00 an hour but i need you to telle how many hours it is supposed to take i am sorry about the donaTION BUT I AM ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND DONT GET MY CHECK FOR ANOTHER 4 DAYS THANK YOU

You are correct. Nobody tries to do anything to the old axles any more. It's too inexpensive to just put the whole axle in. Once the boot rips open, the joint usually gets a bunch of road dirt and water in there anyway which destroys the joint.
