1997 Ford Taurus 6 cyl 140000 miles

my air conditioning isnt working and my father-in-law pointed to a wheel where the belt and said its not spinning thats should be spinning. he said check the fuse but i cant find anything in the fuse box that says air cond. is it somewhere else? then the one that says thrmtr air is missing 30amp is that it? please help i want to show him i can figure it out

OK sounds like you may be low on freon. I don't find that the fuse for the heater and a/c system to blow that often. You do have a heater and all that still works? How much knowledge do you have if I walk you through this to help figure this out? What you will need a paper clip. Now you you will need to find the a/c clutch cycling switch. It is on the accumulator near the headlight on the right side (passenger) under the hood, see pic. Now simply unplug it and use the paper clip to jump the wire harness now start the car and put it on a/c if the clutch engages then you are simply low on freon and need to recharge it. Now remove the paper clip and plug everthing back in. Let me know what you find here.
