Transmission problem
1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

IF i had one from a 1999 tauras would it make my 1996 not shift? The tranny will not change gears

Your transmission has TWO speed sensors. One is for the input speed and one for the output speed. Also, have you checked the system for codes? The transmission is electronically controlled by the PCM. Other problems can cause the transmission not to shift. Shift solenoids are another possibility. Trouble codes may point you to the problem.
