1996 Ford Taurus Transmission - dead

Car developed leak in transmission cooling line.
Wife drove it till it wouldn't go anymore.
Repair shop fixed line, refilled trans.
It would move intermittently, but now will not.
Is it junk?
What usually happens when it's run with no fluid?

Hi there,

the oil is the lubricant as well as the pressure to operate the transmission, there is a good chance that you have destroyed the transmission, it will need to be checked first hand by a trans specialist to determine the amount of damage done.
