This morning we started my car and drove to work and everything was fine. My husband came home and took the keey out of the ignition and the car would not shut off. The switch on the steering column broke. The car was just running. Fear of the car running itself out of gas and ruining the fuel injectors, etc. My husband took out the air filter and put his hand in the vaccum and sophicated the engine of air until it just shut off. Now, when I came home my husband went to a junk yard and got a new steering column from a mercury which was exactly the same steering column. He connected it and turn signals and everythin work but the car starts up but it will not stay on. It starts and then just shuts off. I think it may have something to do with the air but am not sure.
