1996 Ford Taurus I want to know more about me brakes

I just went to a shop and got me brake pad put on and a master cyllinder put on. My brakes are still not wanting to stop, can you help?

do you have the brake light on ?(in dash )
check for leaking brake line
check rear brakes
check rear wheel cylinder if leaking
check if rear out of adjustment
