when i go on long distance trips, after about an hour of continuous driving the car loses speed while my foot is still on the accelarator. and sometimes it Surges forward then loses speed again. any sudgestions as to the cause so i can correct it?

I would check fuel pressure and check exhaust back pressure
check it for tune up
