1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

when I use the cruise control the car shifts eraticly and seem to start off in 3rd gear when I dont have the cruise on the car drives fine What could this be? Also the car seems to not deaccelerate when you take your foot of the gas

If no check engine light on I would check the IAC
if check engine light on check for codes

There is no check engine light, what is the iac? I as told it could b the crusie unit or the crusie not unlocking after turned on, What do you think?

IAC :Idle air control valve

the cruise should kick out the second you touch the brake paddle
if that isn't happening check brake switch and cruise control cut off switch
