1996 Ford Taurus Changing a fuel filter

1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am trying to replace the fuel filter, I have removed the hairpin clips but now I can't remove the filter. I just purchased the tool to remove the hose but their isn't enough room for it between the filter and hose. I tried pulling it off but no luck. Help Jim

You do not need a tool at the filter, once the clip is removed, just pull the hose off! Only thing after that is, did a piece of the plastic clip break off? Try a bit of a twist on the hose.
