when i turn on heat or air my headlights flicker could this mean i need a new battery? what else could this mean?

I have a 95 taurus, and my headlights would flicker anytime i'd turn something electrical on. (Heat, AC, press the breaks). My battery terminals just needed a good cleaning and it fixed the problem.
