Unless you have the flexible fuel engine or the SHO, the ignition module is on the distributor. To replace it, you need to loosen the hold down bolt on the distributor. Then turn the distributor to access the bolts holding the module to the distributor. You will need a 5.5 mm thinwall socket to remove the bolts. Then pull the module downward to disengage it from the PIP sensor in the distributor. To install the replacement module, reverse the procedure with care to the following:
The replacement module must have dielectric compound applied to the surface that contacts the distributor. This is necessary for heat transfer to keep the module from overheating. Timing must be reset to specification.
