1994 Ford Taurus Intermitten a/c

I have a 3.2L v-6 sho. The air conditioning seems to only work when the car is cool and or first started. After 10 min. of driving the a/c stops blowing cold air and the compressor stops engaging. Any ideas what might be causing this condition?

Check coolant fan operation if fan not coming on that would cause the system to overheat and hi side to go way up and stop the compressor
check pressure on low and hi sides
