1994 Ford Taurus hard time to start when warm

Hello,

I got a '94 Ford Taurus V6 3.8L and the car runs fine when it's cold but I am a service engineer and driving around all day and after a while driving the car, starting, driving, turning engine off and after 30 minutes when I try to start the engine it has a hard time starting up. It studders and turns off and I have to try two to three times to start the engine before it finally runs. The car sometime smell a little bit like gas but then it runs fine. What could be most likely be wrong?

Check the fuel pressure if its within specs sounds as though you're losing the residual fuel pressure and creating the hard starts.
