1994 Ford Taurus Engine seizing

I recently had to replace the thermostat and bypass hose on my car due to the hose exploding. After that during a test run my car would stall at every stop and would run sluggish, at one stop sign it stalled and would not restart all it does is turn over but wont start. what could be the problem
