I have a 1994 Ford Taurus GL, 3.8L engine, 6 cyl, automatic transmission, a/c, 108500 miles.
My engine occasionally dies when braking at stop lights, making turns around corners, and going over speed bumps & up driveways. This occurs once every few times I drive. When the engine dies, I can immediately start it back up, and it continues to drive okay. The engine starts & idles fine.
The car had a major tuneup a year ago.
I just changed the fuel filter & serpentine belt.
The PCV valve & vaccum in the PCV line seem fine.
The brake fluid lines from the master cylinder seem fine.
The idle air control valve seems fine, and I cleaned the throttle with air intake cleaner.
I'm guessing it may be a vaccum leak somewhere, perhaps having to do with the brakes? Is there an easy way to check the vaccum in the brake lines or brake booster?
Any suggestions on what I should check?
