1993 Ford Taurus floor lights switch

It should shut off with the dome light. Somewhere in the wiring, you have a short that is either providing power to it, or there is a ground problem and a different component is backfeeding power through the light to gain a ground. The only thing you can do is start checking for a wiring problem. Follow the power supply to the light looking for a damaged wire.
