1992 Ford Taurus need advice

my car is shifting ok until I have to come to a stop,like a red light,then after I stop with my foot on the brake,the transmission is shifting down,and then usually the car stalls,somtimes the oil light flashes when it does this.

Can you keep it running by given it some gas and if so suspect check and replace IAC valve
